It comes as no surprise that after a socially distanced, stay-home-stay-safe 2020, we were all a little stir crazy when the warm weather and vaccines of 2021 came into town. The Babes were no exception; they got on planes, took road trips, and soaked up as much social time as they possibly could! Now, we normally try to make our posts a bit educational while keeping the fun in, but this one is simply sharing our summers and basking in that sweet, sweet, vaccinated glow of 2021. So read on if you want to join us in our trip down the recent memory lane of our Hot Vax Summer. ;)
Lauren’s Family, Friend, and Music Filled Summer Days
After getting her Covid-19 vaccination, boss babe Lauren was able to hop on a few planes this summer and visit her family in both North Carolina and Houston, Texas. She hadn’t been able to see her family in nearly 20 months! She also brought along her fur-baby, Marley, to meet the fam and win all the hearts. While she was in Houston, she was able to meet ME (Theresa) IRL for the first time, even though we’d been working together for over a year at that point! “One of the drawbacks of a fully remote team is not getting to meet in person very often. But, that also makes it all the more special when you do get to spend time together!” -Lauren. Another highlight of her Houston trip was meeting (and drinking) with a few of Betsy Bash’s clients. Nothing like sealing the deal with a glass of champagne!
Not to overshadow the gathering of family and friends, but being the badass that she is, Lauren Ramseyalso worked backstage for her 5th Lollapalooza this year! She had the fast-paced job of driving artists, managers, and the amazing Lolla crew all over the festival grounds. All of the Babes are jealous of her proximity to Miley Cyrus this summer.
Tasha’s Jet-Setting, Bottle-Popping Sunny Adventures
Tasha was a model citizen during 2020. Though she is naturally a social butterfly, she chose to stay home and keep her friends and family safe. Until that sweet, sweet Pfizer vaccine came into her life. She waited the appropriate amount of time after her second dose, and then she was set free! “I pretty much did all the vacationing and socializing I couldn't do in the last year in two jam-packed, adventure-filled months.”-Tasha.
To start off with a bang, she flew to Chicago to visit and cheers with long-distance friends (and Lauren). Saw the sights, met some clients, and felt like herself again. Her summer tour kept going by spending multiple weekends in her old college stomping grounds Austin, TX. She still has so many beautiful friends there that she couldn’t go anywhere without running into someone she used to hang with. Talk about feeling normal and social again! While in the area, she visited Texas hill country to enjoy all that it offers, like scenic views, wine, trails, and did I mention wine?
To wrap up the season of travel and adventure, she took a much-deserved 5-day vacation to the Pacific Northwest with her younger sister. They immersed themselves in the glory of towering trees, dewy moss, and mountain peaks to fully recharge and reset together. She truly soaked up every bit of the summer season in the best way.
Tamara’s Sun-Soaked and Picturesque Moments
Moving to a new city in a new state is stressful enough, but try doing it in a global pandemic! Tamara made the leap from the bustling city of Chicago to the mountain vistas of Denver last year. Due to restrictions, lockdowns, and classic 2020 style chaos, she wasn’t able to fully explore and experience all that Colorado had to offer her until this summer! After getting her Covid-19 vaccine, Tamara laced up her hiking boots, grabbed her camera, and hit the trails!
Tamara spent her summer outside, “camping, trail running, hiking, paddle boarding, and documenting it all with my camera.” She’s gotten to know Denver and fallen in love with her new home. Not only did she spend a lot of time behind the camera, but she also did some fitness modeling in front of the camera. Yes, she is the coolest babe. ;)
She even squeezed in a trip back to Chicago, where she visited old friends and family and joined Lauren at Lollapalooza for her first concert in over a year! Tamara missed concerts, festivals, and soaking up the sun in style most during 2020 and this summer; she relished in all those missed moments.
Theresa’s Bridesmaid Bustle and Happy Day’s Hustle
Like most of us, I spent the majority of last year strapped in a roller coaster of anxiety and stress every time even the mention of seeing another human was presented. So when I began planning my childhood best friend’s bachelorette and gearing up for her summer wedding, I was not properly excited. But then I met my newest best friend, the Moderna vaccine, and slowly my shell opened. The 12 person-party bus-drag show-dancing the night away bachelorette kicked my social summer into high gear in early June!
After that, I celebrated another turn around the sun with as many of my friends (including two of the Betsy Babes) as I could get to drink the night away with me! My heart was so full of love, friendship and laughter. I also soaked up family time visiting parents and taking nieces and nephews on adventures as much as possible!
Then came the big day to watch my friend of 20 years (how am I so old?) walk down the aisle! Tears flowing down my face, I realized how lucky we are to have friends in this crazy world. How lucky I am to have so many and work with them too!
It may feel a little silly, but we all deserve some happiness in our lives, and at Betsy Bash, we’ve enjoyed celebrating even the simplest of good days with each other. We’d love to hear what you were up to this #hotvaxsummer!
